Yes it is possible,
This guide apparently goes over the steps that are required, however I feel that you do not need the FAT32 partition any more.

The steps are generally (simplified of course)
1. Resize WindowsXP Partition
2. Install Ubuntu into other
or
1. Backup Windows XP using IBM ThinkVantage backup.
2. Re-partition entire HD leaving ThinkVantage Suite alone (using all as primary)
3. Restore Windows XP Backup to first partition
4. Install Ubuntu into other partition
I always do the second method as I like to test out the Backup and Restore when I get a new machine to ensure that it works at least at the very basic level. But the first is probably quicker and easier.
Whichever method you choose I would do a backup first to ensure that you still got your data should something go wrong.

Consider Partition Magic or the like to manage your partitions without reloading the machine. .... JDH

Also consider VMware to allow you to run XP and Ubuntu simulaneously. ... JDH

I have always used the alternate version, because I have not had much luck with the other version. YMMV.

Please make recovery discs before doing any of this. You will be happy you did.
