Help!! Problem booting Debian.

When I installed Linux the 1st time, I set a few things I wasn't really sure about (what sort of pc, usage etc), so i thought I'd start again. Bad move! I booted from the debian disk and started installing, but it threw a wobbly half way through and aborted.

Now when it boots, it stops with a GRUB error 15 and I can't just reinstall.

I think I need to format/wipe the drive before starting again. Any advice?

I can use the menu to get to a prompt through the setup screen. Can I type anything to wipe the lot?

Try "startx" and see if the GUI comes up. If so go to the control center /administration/boot manager and reinstall grub.
If you can't startx then boot the cd, remove all the partitions and start over.

I'll try again, but not sure I had an option to delete partions..
