Problems w/ SATA & Ubuntu (Ubuntu, SATA-to-PATA bridge)?

I'm curious if these SATA issues have been addressed in Ubuntu?

My apologies if this is a faq.

I'm considering purchasing a T43, and am a little concerned about the sata-to-pata bridge.

The thinkwiki page talks about issues in old kernels. Everything works for me on my T61 with kernel 2.6.21

I suspect the T61 doesn't have a SATA-to-PATA bridge as the T43 does. This bridge, and its affect on drivers, etc, is what concerns me the most.

Thoughts?

It has a SATA<->PATA bridge for the ultrabay. I'm right now happily using a PATA 2nd hdd adapter, and it works fine.
