Does Compiz/Beryl work on official ATI drvr for FireGL T60p?

I am running Feisty Ubuntu on my T60p. I started out with the open source drivers but mistakenly installed Envy and therefore the commercial drivers were installed. Do these drivers work with Compiz/Beryl?

I have a 5250 and it works for me. Though, the new compiz occasionally has trouble w/ window borders. Beryl is fine however.

Ok but how did you set it up? I can't even get XGL sessions to work properly. It just freezes painting when I log in. I think that is the part that I am having trouble with.
