I seem to have some troubles with the hotswapping of the ultrabay under Kubuntu 7.10:
I can swap the UltraBay HDD and manually mount without
any data loss or data corruption so far. But it doen't look save to me:
Opening the UltraBay Latch does not have any effect in kern.log
or acpi.log, and there some "kind-of" error messages in the logs,
when you pull out the DVD drive and the HDD from the UltraBay!?
Does anyone have experience with hotswapping IDE HDDs
under Gutsy?
Which of the methods described on Thinkwiki How_to_hotswap_UltraBay_devices
are relevant for Kubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon?
Also check out the bug report for 2.6.22 and my comment at the end:
