Hi, since nobody has yet responded to your posting, I thought I'd chime in my with mine. While I don't have a T22, I have tried running Knoppix on my Thinkpad 600, 600E and 600X respectively (Yes I do love the 600 series laptops :-) ) and I have never been able to run it without it freezing on me. The longest time I've been able to run Knoppix is about 2 hours I believe. And I noticed that every time it freezes is when I'm on the internet (either using konqueror or mozilla) All else works fine. Obviously it ran best on my 600X machine (650 Mhz Pentium III). Hope this helps.

iv'e had knoppix running live off the cd and that was okay, except no internet access due to having usb adsl modem.
what i really meant was having it running off the hard disk.

knoppix 3.3 ran very well on my t23; at the moment i'm running debian sarge, but guess i'll be going back to knoppix, the 3.4 version now, it's simply easier for me, almost hassle-free.

I would like to recommend Mepis Linux. It installs and runs well on my T30. Like knoppix it is a debian based distro, and it is quickly gaining many converts. mepis.org

Yeah, I second Mepis. Try the Simply Mepis (I thing RC5 is out). I tried running the Live CD thing and it's nice. Knoppix is German, Mepis is WEST VIRGINIA! There are tons of software on the CD and hardware detection is great. Worked well with my PCMCIA modem (3com 3CXM756) on mt T22.

I have a 600X and Knoppix runs from the CD like a purring kitten. No freezes. Period.
