Ubuntu Linux 7.10 on ThinkPad - keyboard mapping issue
Posted: Wed Dec 05, 2007 7:06 am
Hi,
I installed Ubuntu 7.10 (English) on my ThinkPad T30 (Italian keyboard).
I'm having some minor issues with the AltGr key.
AltGr+3 should give me the octothorpe symbol (#) but what I get is a superscript 3 (³). To get the octothorpe I have to digit AltGr+à.
The mail symbol (@) works as expected with AltGr+Q but i can get it also with AltGr+ò.
With AltGr+4 I get ¼ (not listed on keyboard)
With AltGr+5 I get ½ (not listed on keyboard)
etc.
With AltGr+Z I get « (not listed on keyboard)
With AltGr+X I get » (not listed on keyboard)
etc.
Apart from the AltGr key the keyboard mapping is perfect. Of course the AltGr key works perfectly in Windows XP.
In System/Preferences/Keyboard/Layouts I can read:
Generic 105-key (Intl) PC
Italy
I tried to set the Keyboard model to ThinkPad Intl and/or the layout to it-ibm but the problem persists.
Please note that I have the same problem in the terminal.
