anyone using Ubuntu 8.04 beta?

#1 Post by Paul Unger » Sun Apr 06, 2008 9:20 am

Just wondering if anyone here is using the beta of 8.04 Hardy on a T4x/T6x. I'm thinking about 'upgrading' to the beta before I leave Canada (internet connections in Solomon Islands are very slow!). Or will I have to download a whole new iso when 8.04 is officially released? Pr will the beta just update incrementally via the package manager? (Can you tell I'm new to this? :))

If you're already using 8.04:
a. does the nVidia quadro 140m require restricted drivers;
b. does the thinkpad abgn wireless card work

Those are the two things I can remember causing me grief with 7.10 . . . (though they're both working flawlessly now!) Anyway, feedback would be welcome!

Using it on T4x and it works fine.

Speculation on T6x, I think the wireless should work. Doubt much has changed on the nvidia side.
