Hi guys,

well after having some difficulties with installing the drivers I used "envy" to install the drivers on ubuntu.
But now the displays- actually the screensaver and the the videos - flicker whenever I run/play them.

Well I can post you some of the outputs

Cheers

Since no one else is diving in, I'll try to help as best I can. I'm not sure about the screen saver issue, but the video playing might not simply be a driver issue. There's a thread on UBUNTU FORUMS concerning getting multimedia to work properly. I highly recommend you take a look at it; maybe it can help.

May I also ask you a question, as I have the same video processor? I've managed to get the original restricted drivers set up to get the 1680x1050 resolution, and have COMPIZ working under XGL. Does the newer video driver you're using allow the high resolution and COMPIZ without XGL? And does it clear up the "resume from hibernate" problem?

Thanks for the answer. I was afraid that I posted a bad/wrong question into this forum.

just one thing could you post a link to the multimedia page from the ubuntu page or some keywords so I could find it.

with the resolution issue: i can only use the 1440x1024 and have not a higher resolution yet . and I can only say that the hibernation mode does not work. therefore I cannot resume from hibernation mode.

I am sorry i have no better news for the hibernate mode.

talk to you later
