Zenwalk 5.0 - T23 - Numeric Pad activated at login

Hey,

this is my first post and I hope that you can help me out. I tried out some linux distributions for my T23 and at the end I opted for the Zenwalk distribution. The installation was no problem at all, but now at the login screen my numeric pad is automatically activated and I don't know how to desactivate it, which is a hassle given that my username and password need those letters. So can somebody tell me how to desactivate the numeric pad. To be honest, I don't even know how to activate/desactivate it in general since I never needed it.

Many thanks,

Nevermind, I found the solution on the Zenwalk message board. It is sufficient to hold Shift + Num Lock (but for some reason the Led is still on) and to desactivate Num Lock in Zenpanel -> Startup

Thanks.

Welcome to thinkpads.com!

If your system is in the "Num Lock" mode, you can verify this by looking at the status LED for this function. It will be to the left of the power button and look like a upward pointing arrow with the number "1" inside. To turn it off, hold down either shift key and press the "ScrLk (NumLk)" button. That should turn it off.

Ah, as I was composing this (and verifying that my T23's BIOS didn't have a setting for enabling Num Lock by default) I see that you've found the answer.
