Linux Mwave 2780 drivers

Anybody have any ideas how to get the mwave drivers released for the newer mwave chipset (770 / 600?) to work with the 2780 series found in 755/760 models. I have a 760XD and had RedHat 9.0 installed- All of the RPM and src I found only support source for the newer chipset. Maybe with Lenova and China making Thinkpads they will also work on MWave Linux drivers? I would also like to be able to get MWave drivers working for my other PC's Mediavision Audiovation MWave cards in Linux. I am still a MWave and Midi fan and would love to see these issues solved- since this is the magic behind these older thinkpads, (They used them in the Space Shuttle for Glory-ouskies Sakes) even if I could try to program it some myself- I some older SDK stuff- not complete or high level DDK materials, so I think I do not have enough resources- like manuals -compiler specifications- 2780 source- and/or whatever else is required to do correctly.
Has anyone any tips to modify the available souce to be also backwards compatible with the 2780's.
