And I want to put a linux distro? which one is best. Want space for files and programs. How do I do it?
TP 600E 2645-55u PII/300mhz/128MB/ 6gb.
TP T20 PIII 700mhz/364mb/12gb

You can try puppy, dam* small linux (dsl), slax, or others. There are many to choose from.

This site has a list of many live/small distros.
