Hello.

I'm new user of thinkpad series. Its really great! But i have 2 problems after installing linux.

1: howto turn off touchpad? I'm using only trackpoint but sometimes by mistake i'm touching it...or buttons. It makes me mad!

2: middle button of trackpoint don't work. It's really usefull, but I tried some configs - no effects. Anyone knows working sollution?

best regards,

Once you enable SHMConfig, the gui control for the touchpad will work. The gui is not installed by default though.

As for the Thinkpad style middle button (I assume it works the Linux style right now): http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... ght=middle

Not being Linux-literate, but couldn't you just disable the touchpad in the Thinkpad's BIOS (assuming that there's a control for it)? I do this for my Windows XP T41 systems since I prefer to use just the Trackpoint.

Thanks for your replies. IMHO rkawakami's method is better for me. Just turn it of and all's right, I dont need to turn it on temporary.

What about the second questions? Any solutions?

Best regards,

EDIT: after modifications its working but no scrolling i firefox ;/

I use QSynaptics to turn off my TouchPad in Linux.
