Xubuntu on a 770Z

So I loaded up Xubuntu on a 770z. It boots ok into linux, but I am having the following problems;

1.) Sound does not work
2.) Shutdown does not work. Fans and drives shut off, then it hangs on the final splash screen
3.) Reboot does not work. It hangs at the BIOS boot screen. I think it is because of my WiFi card because the light is still on. I suspect hibernate or suspend would be out of the question for the same reason.
4.) I had to use Ndiswrapper to get my Netgear WG511 v2 card to run. If I run the ndiswrapper commands to enable the card it works fine. If I reboot I have to run the same commands again then fool around with toggling the interface in the Network applet.

Maybe someone out there is running xubuntu on a 770z and can save me from days of research.
Thank-you.

I loaded up D_a_m_n Small Linux instead of Xubuntu, and I got everything to work. DSL is actually a better fit for a 770 IMHO. Here's a few links to anyone following in these footsteps. Reboot and shutdown worked out of the box on DSL.

First, I used this one to get sound working -

Then this one for persistent Ndiswrapper on reboot -

That's the nice thing about Linux.
There is usually a distro out there, that is a good match for most machines.
It just taking the time to find one that works with your hardware.
