Firstly Id like to say this is the best dist that I have ever used, Im on a z60t and everything works right out. That includes volume controls, and fn keys. I have a 1.4 CM in mine that I pinmoded to 1.86 and there are no problems with the overclock thus far.
Here are my questions,
1. What are the original touchpad settings on the thinkpad?
2. Are there any new updates for the gma 950?
Thanks
Installed mint 5, have a few questions

I'm running Mint 5 on a couple of my machines and would love to help you, but am somewhat puzzled by your questions...
a) What type of "default settings" are you referring to?
b) What type of update for GMA 950? BIOS? Tweaks?

I was curious if anyone knew the settings in the mouse preferences that reflected the factory settings of the touch pad. I played around with it but still can feel a small difference.
I found the tweak for the GMA from another site, I had a small problem with video lag in the first few minutes after boot.
Although now I have a problem with firefox, sometimes the video files just turn blank. For example after a few hours youtube will not display any of its media and it wont give an error, after restarting firefox it goes back to normal.
And finally the last rather small issue is keyboard settings not sticking, in the keyboard preferences I set the keyboard to IBM A22 which lets me use the page back keys. After reboot the setting still says the A22 layout is selected but the page back keys dont function.

1. The only way to get the mouse close to factory is to make minor adjustments to the sensitivity and try it out.
2. What tweak for the Intel GMA950 are you referring to? I am assuming you are wanting to get better performance from Compiz?
3. Firefox sucks memory at a quick rate, more so with multiple tabs open and even more so when using flash. Flash in Linux is just not as advanced as flash for Windows. The solution: quit and restart firefox every few hours. Emptying the cache couldn't hurt either.
4. I believe you can run through the mint version of xconfig and setup the keyboard. As to why it wouldn't be saving your settings, the only thing I can think of would be to check the system logs for any messages.
Linux mint is a great distro, hope you keep enjoying it as muchas others have.
