i installed kubuntu 8.10, am owner of t60p and pluged in samsung t220 on vga port
with no proprietry driver xrandr can see both monitors, but if i change from "clone" to "left of" or "right of" nothing happens
with driver enabled (what i want) xrandr doesn't even see both my monitors, it just displays "default" and i can't do anything

is it possible with proprietry drivers or maybe the open source ones, to make external monitor my primary(with task manager...) and lcd of thinkpad extend on the left side?
and how do i do that?

i tried a lot of google result tips but none worked.the best thing i got was that my monitor was extend of laptop lcd but with the resolution of laptop and not primary

ty for any advice

well, looks like xrandr doesn't work with fglrx driver.

so if somebody could post xorg.conf file with dual-head and external lcd as primary display(extended desktop), plz plz plz

i just can't get it to work :(

just hate ATI and the card im stuck with, never should I bought it
so to every linux user on this forum, NEVER EVER buy a ATI graphics card, it's a hell to get it to work(and not just dual-head)
