I'm just wondering has anyone tried weatherBug? If so what are your thoughts?

I installed it on my R61 running Suse 11.1 and it was an easy install and the weatherBug widget is pretty nice and doesn't seem to be a big resource hog.

But to be honest I haven't been running it that long. Only a few days.

Thanks Doog. I didn't know weatherbug had a Linux client. Does it have any annoying adverts or nag screens? Spyware safe?

Harry
I haven't seen anything jump out at me yet.
I know at one time they had a bad rep with spy ware.
But like I mentioned I don't have a lot of run time with it.

I don't use WeatherBug but if you are running Xfce 4 or Gnome there have very nice applets in both for weather display. They're fully GPL (or other free license) with source available if you are concerned about spyware/adware/etc.

From http://weather.weatherbug.com/about-us/ ... f-use.html:
THIS SOFTWARE IS ADVERTISING AND SPONSOR SUPPORTED. The Software is provided for your use, as described below, free of charge, (unless you have activated the WeatherBug Plus features by purchasing a subscription to that service), and is supported by advertising and sponsorship revenue. Periodically, you may be asked to select a sponsor for a particular session of WeatherBug use. If you decide to select a sponsor in this instance, you will be presented with that sponsor's marketing message through banner advertisements and/or a visit to a page on the sponsor's website. Advertisements will generally be displayed within the frame of the WeatherBug application. Moreover, we may deliver topical weather reports and news and information from our weather experts in separate browser windows that may have advertisements as well. You will ONLY be shown advertisements from the Software when the Software is actively displaying weather information in a window on your screen.
