configuration -- Cisco Aironet wireless b adapter using airo driver and wicd
I've been having this problem the whole time I've had this laptop. Once I've connected to a wireless network I can not see any new wireless networks without reboot. for example, at home there are three networks I can see, but once I've connected to one, I stop being able to see the other two, and if I were to go out of range of the one I'm connected to I can't see any. this gets really obnoxious if I hibernate the lappy and head somewhere else, and try to scan for networks.
I have tried restarting the adapter, the airo module, wicd and wicd client, etc, but it can only see new networks after reboot.
bad software maybe? any ideas or experience?
Thank you.

Re: can't connect to new networks
Well, software is easy enough to eliminate, just boot up a live Linux CD...assuming you have an ultrabase or an external CDROM drive. Your sig says your dual boot with XP. Does this issue occur in XP as well?
Re: can't connect to new networks
it happens only in Linux. I mean I can fix it by rebooting, but I don't think I should have to reboot just to rescan for networks.

Re: can't connect to new networks
I'm not positive this will work, but you can give it a try.
From konsole/console as root, type killall pppd and press Enter.
