X61 + Ultrabase + dual monitor

I would like to use dual screen. The X61 only have one VGA port. If i get the Ultrabase, I would have one additional VGA port on the ultrabase. My question is whether I will be able to use both port to drive two monitors. I would like a dual screen setup with my X61. It's kind of sad that X61 doesn't come with dual DVI. I am running Ubuntu 8.04.

Looks like this is impossible.

I'm buying a USB video adapter.. even that I can't be sure.

madcow, I've searched for this before (I have 2x20.1 inch 1600x1200 displays connected to my desktop) and was unable to find a realistic option. I *believe* I read that connecting one monitor to the port on the X61 and the other to the ultrabase will not work.

Wish you luck with the USB option...

I bought a USB to VGA adapter from StarTech.com. It doesn't work by default. You have to change the xorg file to make it work. Once it's working, the video quality is kind of poor. The color is poor. The image looks washed.
