ubuntu netbook remix | studio edition on thinkpad x61

hey everyone..

has anyone tried the ubuntu netbook remix or the ubuntu studio edition on the thinkpad x61..
just wanted to know how both the beauties work hand in hand?? 8) 8)
Thinkpad X61
Intel T8100, 6GB RAM, Ubuntu 11.04, 16GB SSD, X6 Ultra-base ( hell yeh .. )
Thinkpad R500
Intel T6750, 4GB RAM, 80GB 7200rpm, Win 7 Professional.
2 X Mac Mini, Apple Retina Mac Pro
Not getting any younger thinkpads:

To my knowledge the Netbook remix is just Ubuntu with an added display manager that obviously differs from Gnome and caters to a smaller, lower resolution screen. Ubuntu studio is also just a meta-package for Ubuntu that ads a whole bunch of multimedia and production based apps to the base Ubuntu. They should both work in theory on your X61 as vanilla Ubuntu does.http://www.wired.com/

That's right..

I have seen a friend running it on his laptop. He can switch between remix or classic view which is what Ubuntu look like.
