Greetings, while I am waiting for my new x200 to show up, I am wondering if anyone can give their input on what variation of linux they have running on it. I really like Ubuntu and am quite comfortable at least as far as GNOME is concerned. My main concern is hardware support, as I have read a few things saying power managment and fan control is not there yet causing inferior battery life and the system running hotter then under windows. That said, I don't mind waiting until the mainstream Ubuntu's kernal (drivers) are capable of handling my new beast. I will probably be ready to take the plunge with this system into linux once I am comfortable these issues have been dealt with.

Ubuntu works excelently on a lot of the lenovo hardware, while mostly personal preference OpenSUSE, Ubuntu 8.10, Fedora 11 and so on work amazingly well. If you're familiar with gnome then, i'd go Ubuntu/Fedora, they have a lot less I'd say customizations than OpenSuSE would.

Mint might be worth a look. It's based on Ubuntu.
