linux hard drive copy-will not boot up?

#1 Post by gery350 » Fri Sep 04, 2009 8:23 am

hey guys.
i have a bmw program i copied to another hard drive(used acronis)for back-up. the program runs on linux. theres 2 bmw programs on the drive. one for diagnostics, one for programming bmw modules. when i boot up i get an error message stating the following:

PANIC: SRMOUNTFUN - error 22 mounting rootdev hd (1/42)
cannot dump 52407 pages to dumpdev hd (1/41) : space for only 0 pages

dump not completed

now to run the second program upon reboot i type "bootos 3" and the second program works.

the first program is supposed to be the default boot program but i get the error message above. the original drive works fine. i dont know a thing about linux but i'm guessing i'm mising a command i need when i copied it.
any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, gery
