Hi everyone.
I recently had my t60 replaced with a T400 (6474-B84) model.
I was surprised that under the battery there is a sim card holder. Further investigation pointed to the certain that there is a mobile 3G modem in the T400 hardware.
Unfortunately, the product specifications from Lenovo site, refers to different models of the modem and from what I have read it is not that simple to put it to work.
One other strange thing that is happening to me is that I'm not able to find the device under ubuntu (jaunty) neither with lsusb or lspci or lshal. It is almos like the hardware is not there.

Googling and reading a lot in thinkwiki did not resulted in practical facts. I'm a mobile user and from my point of view the dependancy of an usb hdspa modem that you have to carry and connect each time I need it is a pain ( ok, it is a little pain, but it is there :-).

Can someone confirm that this T400 model (6474-B84) has the modem hardware?
Did someone managed to put it to work?

Also if you look at the leds, you will find in the first 3 positions:
1.Wireless Adapter Status
2.Bluetooth Adapter Status
3.????????? Adapter Status (OFF in mine) [???????? = modem status ?]
FN+F5 can toglle WIFI and BT on/of, but not the ??????

Since I've discovered the #"$%$ sim slot/modem (and did not find any helpfull help on it) that I'm convencing myself that I wont need windows to confirm that the hardware is there... (I don't have a windows partition, why should I?)...

Thanks
Tiago Lopes
Thanks
