Lenovo Thinkpad USB Keyboard configuration

Hi,
So I have come into the possession of the latest iteration of the Lenovo Thinkpad USB Keyboard. It is a great keyboard, however there is some functionality that I miss from the internal keyboard of my Thinkpad. For example, the middle mouse button scrolling does not seem to work at all, even though I was able to configure it on the internal keyboard with a relative ease.
Also certain combinations of Fn keyboard shortcuts do not work either, namely none of the Fn+Fx (lock, battery, suspend, wireless, hibernation and all the other ones on functional keys) work. Strangely enough Fn + arrow keys (multimedia control) work just fine. Same goes for volume control, even the volume mute button works and it never really worked on the internal keyboard (microphone mute button does not seem to work, but I don't really need it).
The keyboard is connected to the laptop via the Ultrabase but if I plug it in directly to the laptop it makes no difference. I am running fully up to date Karmic. Does anybody know how should I go about enabling scrolling and Fn keyboard shortcuts? I would be grateful if you could point me in the right direction.
