How do I get the "drivers" for the T23's Super Savage graphics so that it can work on Ubuntu ?

Well...I'm not very knowledgable with Ubuntu either. I only run Linux full time on my 600X. Never have for any length of time on a T23. Anyway, from what I read on the links above, the savage driver has been built into Xorg since version 7, which goes back about 4 years. So, there shouldn't be anything to install with any current release of Ubuntu (or derivatives). It should just work.
If my understanding here is not correct, I'm sure someone will come by shortly who can set us straight.

Only thought I had something to install because of the uncommon S3 chip and being unable to turn on any eye-candy... will probably turn out that the old thing is a little too weak for these new GUI artefacts
Thanks Neil !

Yeah, the T23 GPU doesn't have the power for special effects. Just for giggles, I just now went and booted my T23 with a live Ubuntu CD, and sure enough Xorg loaded the S3 Savage IX/C SDR ver. 5 video driver. So it's confirmed, it just works out-of-box.
