Trackpoint not working on Linux Mint 6 Felicia

Hi guys,
I recently switched from Windows XP to Linux Mint (version 6) and so far am really impressed.
Although I can't say that it was an easy switch (getting printer to work and working through a display resolution problem) I'm really happy with the results.
The one thing that I'm not happy with is that I can no longer scroll using my trackpoint.
I had gotten into the habit of using the trackpoint as a mouse wheel not only on web pages but also within any document that I open. Since switching operating systems I can no longer do this.
Does anyone know how to enable the trackpoint to emulate the mouse wheel?
Please keep in mind that I'm a total newbie when it comes to Linux, but I'm trying to learn.
Thanks in advance.
Dave
