How can I use a usb modem to provide internet service for my whole house wirelessly? I have only two options for internet access where I live: dial-up or verizon wireless usb modem that will plug in to my cell antenna. I live in a rural area that has very little cell coverage and no other options for internet. Are there any routers that have a usb port for a usb modem? Is there another way?

Did you consider a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MiFi or similar device?

To do this, you need to dedicate one of your machines to be a router/firewall. That machine will reroute all traffic coming in on its wireless card out through its usb modem. Your other machines will connect wirelessly to it.

There are a number of tutorials on how to do this, but there are also dedicated linux distributions (ipcop, smoothwall, etc.). I would suggest you give one of the distributions a try.
