sound problems a31p

#1 Post by john518 » Mon Aug 02, 2010 5:31 am

I am using Ubuntu 10.4 on a A31P.
The speakers and headphone jack do not work.
I use the Rhythmbox.
Using "Sysinfo" it sees INTEL 82801ca/cam Ac'97 (rev 02).
subsys IBM Device 0508.
Am I missing anything?

I had Ubuntu 10.4 on my A31P for a little while, and sound worked fine right out of the box. I didn't have to configure anything. You might try a different distro, just to make sure it's not a hardware problem. Also check to be sure that all the needed modules are loaded in Ubuntu.
