t60 acting weird after installing dock apps for unbuntu 10.4

Has anyone run into problems after installing and dock programs,ubuntu begins to act weird? Not sure its a video card problem or a driver issue after installing docky, my screen sporadically flickers and goes blank.I have end up rebooting to get back into ubuntu. I started to notice this behavior after installing two dock programs for ubuntu 10.4. Does anyone know if there any proprietary ati drivers for the T60?
