Advanced Mini Dock, R500, Linux Mint, SPDIF Output

#1 Post by Harryc » Sun Nov 07, 2010 2:03 pm

I did a fairly in depth search for a method to enable the SPDIF out port on an Advanced MiniDock in Linux Mint, but could not find anything. Does anyone have this working? I am running an R500 on the dock. I was able to get the SPDIF port working on Vista while docked, so all of the hardware and cabling is in order.

This is fixed in Linux Mint 10 RC 64bit. I can't point to the bug or the fix, but it just works. It is so worth getting this working if you have a decent HTR or regular receiver with a coax SPDIF input. The audio quality is awesome off of the dock. Even using just a simple M-M RCA patch cable works fine.
