2 External Monitors + Ultrabase + Ubuntu 10.10 Doesn't work

Am running Ubuntu 10.10 with my X201 + Ultrabase. My main external monitor is hooked up with a Display port-->DVI adapter. I've had no issue using the laptop's display + my 24" Samsung display at the same time. Today I tried to add another Samsung display into the mix via the Ultrabase VGA port. As soon as I try to enable to the 3rd display (no matter which order I do it in), the system just can't quite handle it and gives up after scanning the port. The monitors applet sees the display, but can't switch it on regardless of the resolution.

Is what I'm trying to do possible under Ubuntu?

I wish I could help more. Unfortunately, Ubuntu isn't very kind to people with laptop docks or multiple monitors.

Try taking a looking at this page: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/UltraBase_X6. The xrandr commands and udev rules might help.

Use xrandr. Type "xrandr" without any options to see a list of available video outputs and (where available) a list of supported resolutions (more can be added using modeline). Post the list here.
If all three displays are there and all three have a list of resolution modes, there should be no problem in using them.
