Ubuntu, X201 & Headset. Speakers Muted No Audio from headset
X201 with Intel IbexPeak HDMI. Running Ubuntu 10.10. Plugging in headset mutes the speakers, but no audio from headset. There's several posts that suggest modifying /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf. Has anyone else run into this? if so how did you solve?

Check your volume control and make sure that nothing's unexpectedly gotten muted/switched off. (Sometimes the headphone output winds up disabled or muted.)
