Want to set up custom X61t distribution

Hi all; I've installed fresh linux on my x61t a number of times, and, this time windows is getting erased. I'd like to cut down on reinstallation work and give back to the community by creating a custom distro for the X61t that will save a lot of time getting things up and running. I'd like to base it on Kubuntu (just because I've had good luck with them in the past). But other linux variants pretty much all need the same tweaks to get the tablet nonsense running as well as tablet-friendly apps, so, it could be somewhat generic.

If such a beast exists, I would love to use it. But since I can't find one, if anyone has advice on what distro creation package to use, what software packages to include or is willing to help with this idea, please get in touch.

A package list and consolidated tweak list would be easier to do.

If you have server space, you could, instead of calling it a "distro" just make a remastersys .iso of a MINIMAL functional install of your tweaked, working system and identify it as such. Interested folks could install from that then tweak to taste.

Developing and maintaining a distro is a huge undertaking. That said, there doesn't seem to be a tablet specific distro available right now. So, while I don't think it a good idea to make a distro for the X61t specifically, if you want to develop your own distro, I recommend looking into something that will work well with most if not all tablet PC's.
