Low signal on Wireless in Vista
Low signal on Wireless in Vista
Hi, when I connect to my wireless AP with XP my signal strength is Excellent. With Vista it never gets over Good. Anybody else has this problem with the latest Vista TP drivers? I have a X60s with Vista Business installed.
low signal
Yes exactly the same, however it works well, not sure what else can be done. had the same strength when using the native ms driver and lenovo driver. at home i sit 2 feet from the wireless router and get the same thing good signal.
I have the same problem with Vista Enterprise. AC always reports the reception as 60%(3 bars) whether I'm 3 feet from the router or in another nearby room. I have tried the latest intel and lenovo drivers and some older intel driver with always the same result. Thinking this might be related to power management or AC I uninstalled Access Connections and the Lenovo power management program and power management driver and the Lenovo System Interface Driver.
Same result using Vista as the wireless manager, 3 bars.
I also noticed that the wireless power management setting with all the above software and drivers installed is always set to maximum power savings and will reset to this setting even after changing it to maximum performance. This happens with this setting in both AC and Power Manager.
Interesting enough, when I use a Dlink pccard (atheros chipset) with Vista I get 100% reception(5 bars).
I have none of these problems with XP SP2
Guess Lenovo and Intel have a little driver/utility work to do.
