Same here.. Pretty speedy delivery from HK.dexta wrote:Got my T60p! Weee!
Have to wait to open it until we drive home next Saturday though..
Ah, but remember unless they adjusted for time zones on the shipping info HK is 15 hours ahead of us on the west coast. So actually the package would have left HK 4/9 at 6:18am California time. The delivery schedule could still be correct.nandaiyo wrote: Lenovo gratiously bumped my shipping from regular UPS ground to Express. It's interesting to note that the "rescheduled delivery" is for today, but the last update shows the item still in transit from HK.
Sony notebooks suck, in my viewpoint the only good thing these people make are tv's.garyd9 wrote:SonySZ simply doesn't have the battery for that 5 hour flight...
(Oh wait.. does vista business have any of the games?)
The protection service (which covers accidental damage) prevents Solectron from being able to use the "Liquid damage" excuse to deny you warranty service and pony up hundreds of dollars to fix it.evforme wrote:What warranty service are you guys typically getting? 5 years doesn't seem worth the money and the time frame seems way too long. Also, what does the protection service offer that the warranty service upgrade doesn't?
The CTO designator only indicates that it was customer configured. It was not a prebuilt model. Many models will share the same first four. For example 9450XXX can cover Z61p or Z61m. The last three letters indicate the specific model, with CTO being the general designator for custom machines.Dodge DeBoulet wrote:I don't understand Lenovo's part numbering system. The T60P mentioned in the previous post has part number 8743CTO. So does the T60 (NOT P) I ordered last week. Mine's got the T7600 processor, too.
What gives?
In the end that is just as valid as a way. Just like many things it all comes down to personal preference. I love my 15.4" Z61p, but many think the machine is way to big. I don't use vista for compatibility reasons and I do most of my work in Linux anyway.Norristrev wrote:I love this forum...yet in the end i never read a convincing arguement one way or the other on 14 inch vs 15.4 wide. so..I flipped a coin and the 15.4 won. About same with Vista.
After a bit of yelling and screaming, my notebook arrived today via Express (2day!) shipping from HK. Initial impressions: a REAL keyboard on a notebook (alps), but the left CTRL key is in the wrong place.. I'm going to have a hard time retraining my fingers for CTRL- key combinations. Screen (samsung) is okay. Not as good as my previous Sony notebook screen, but not as bad as I had feared after reading this forum.garyd9 wrote:On Friday the 13th, ordered my first Thinkpad (and my 4th notebook): T60p (8744-J2U)
I'm SO glad mine didn't get held up in customs. BTW, "ups-express" is a 2-3 day service from Hong Kong/China, so you'll likely see your notebook the day after customs releases it.warp-drive wrote: 5. Tracking data updated on afternoon of 4/21, "HELD BY BROKERAGE FOR REASONS BEYOND UPS' CONTROL"
