Fan control of T61

Hi, I've tried tpfancontrol_v018b. Can't control the fans...

did you try manual first?
HP Omnibook 800CT 166Mhz Pentium I with PuppyLinux (just to see if it is still possible!)

By default, the .ini has the program set to "Active=0" which means it just takes an look at your machine, but does not change anything.

To enable changes set it to "Active 1".

don't use that software,because i think this may make damage to your notebook

True, it may cause damage with unreasonable settings, but used properly it's a lifesaver for many of us. The author of the software provides ample warning of the potential for serious damage. Having said that, I've never heard of a machine that was permanently damaged from using this software; rather, I've heard of more than a few that have prevented damage by using it. In the end, only you can decide whether to use it or not . . .
