I'm wondering about using the SIM card with my X300.
I put an active T-mobile SIM card in the slot under the battery and tried to dial up to my local ISP using the internal Sierra wireless modem.
I get an "Error 777: The connection attempt failed because the modem (or other connecting device) on the remote computer is out of order."
I went to the Sierra modem's properties in device manager and queried the modem and got a successful response so pretty sure the wireless modem is active and functional.
I am able to dial up to the ISP with an external USB modem no problem.
I can put the SIM into a mobile phone and use it with a full signal to the Tmobile network.
Any suggestions on what might be the problem?
Should I be able to pop in any SIM and use the internal modem to call an ISP?
Are there some compatibility issues I'm unaware of?
Thanks for any help/suggestions.
Sean

It maybe because it needs access authentification. In Germany, not using T-Com software 'cos it's terrible, I always set up a profile in Access Connections with the following authentification;
User Name: t-mobile
Password: leave blank as the SIM PIN Nr. is required beforehand
APN: internet.t-mobile
You might want to contact your provider and ask what needs to be entered in order to be able to connect in your country.
