Has the production of T61p been discontinued?

Since September 2008, I have been waiting to buy a T61p.
Some shops say T61p has been discontinued its production.

Does any one know whether there is a reason or some issues with T61p?

What is the present matching model/machine to T61p?

There was nothing wrong with the T61p. The new machine which replaced the T61p is the W500. It is available in a variety of configurations here in the US. I would also expect it to be available to you in some different configurations.
