Help with Windows 7 and X41 wireless
Help with Windows 7 and X41 wireless
I installed Windows 7 on my X41 but cannot get the wireless internet working. I have a Intel 2915ABG and have tried multiple drivers from Lenovo and Intel. Can anyone help me with specific driver references to get this working? Thx!
Re: Help with Windows 7 and X41 wireless
Uninstall what you have then let Windows update find a driver for you.

I would also install Lenovo System Update, it helped me a lot with Win7.

How about the audio drivers? I can't seem to find those either.
I installed the wireless drivers for 32-bit Vista and that seemed to work just fine.

Re: Help with Windows 7 and X41 wireless
This is what I did:
1) Install Win7 as you normally would
2) Connect to the internet via ethernet (just about the only driver Win7 recognized) and run Windows Update (you will then have the drivers for the wireless & audio)
3) Go to the Lenovo site and install any other drivers/software that you need (like the onscreen display, etc)

We must have different hardware, because step 2 just says Windows has no updates for me and I still had missing drivers.xene wrote:This is what I did:

It's unfortunate drivers don't come in packages, or someone could just email the audio drivers to me.

Did you check in the Option Updates? I think that's where I found the drivers.starkruzr wrote:We must have different hardware, because step 2 just says Windows has no updates for me and I still had missing drivers.

Again... I would install Lenovo System Update rather than picking every driver from the Lenovo Site...

Re: Help with Windows 7 and X41 wireless
I'm not sure how to be more clear. System Update, when I run it, either a) does not detect that the audio driver is missing or b) doesn't find an audio driver in whatever repositories it searches when it runs. I can't tell which it is, because it doesn't "fail." It just doesn't report that anything is missing.Tasurinchi wrote:Again... What is frustrating about this is that the driver is not available from Lenovo's site. Lenovo's site says the driver is available on Windows Update. It isn't.
