phc_control values for an Athlon Neo MV-40 on x100e?

#1 Post by comododragon » Tue Nov 01, 2011 4:42 pm

Hello everyone. I've finally created my account on this forum, after months of just looking at it.

Well, I'm a (not so proud) owner of a x100e with a single-core MV-40 processor. The biggest problem IMO about this notebook is the very noisy fan that never stops... I'm using Xubuntu 11.04, and my proc. temps varies trough 60C - INF . So i have decided to take a chance to PHC. The whole problem is that the phcontrol doesn't work at all on my notebook (most probably because i'm using XFCE and not gnome...)

However, phc modules works well i guess, i have just echoed "8:40 0:40" to /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/phc_control and everything just freezed (first time I celebrate a freezed screen in my life)

The whole problem is, i don't know what those numbers after the colons means, and since phcontrol doesn't works (and it looks like everyone on the world doesn't know what those numbers means either) I came here hoping that an owner of an undervolted MV-40 could pass me the values to echo on /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/phc_control. Any heroes?

Thanks in advance.

Necro post but in case someone finds it, put this in /etc/rc.local

echo -n 27 38 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/phc_vids
