The upcoming Thinkpad Bay trail tablet? TPT 3?

#1 Post by QWERTY Andreas » Sat Dec 14, 2013 1:51 pm

Hi
I know most of the users on this forum won't really care about this topic, since they are rather conservative when it comes to computers.

However, i really look forward to see wether lenovo will launch a Thinkpad Tablet 3 with bay trail.

What we know;

- It will be released
- It will feature Intels latest atom processor (bay trail)
- It will have wifi
- It will be 8-Inch

What the other TPT tablets have, and we migth expect;

- Full size USB
- Video out
- Expandable memory
- Docking capability

If it is executed well, i will buy it :) And then replace my UMPCs/Laptops on the go, in combo with a keyboard.

What do you think about this neat Little add-up to the current Thinkpad portfolio?

Hi QWERTY Andreas,

I remember now seeing it on liliputing but I had forgotten about it since I have been looking at the Dell 8 Venue but the lack of a display connecter is a downer for me. I know the Miix 8 is made by Lenovo but it does not have a display connecter (I just checked the Lenovo site and did not see it listed).

I have been into tablet pc's and UMPC's as well.

Thanks for bringing this up.

John

So the Thinkpad tabler 8 just got released:

8.3 inch screen
Aluminium housing (a step up)
Micro HDMI
Micro USB 3.0 (Needs an adapter to function like a normal USB)
16:10 touchscreen (improvement)
No wacom (it havent been mentioned... Thats a HUGE step down)
MicroSD (as expected)
1900x1200 reolution (a bit too high for me i think, but luckily the DPI can be changed)

What i miss:

Docking capability
Wacom digitizer
Keyboard dock
Thinkpad Helix 2
Custom build ITX desktop (i5 4590, 8GB RAM, GTX 1050Ti, custom watercooling)
Thinkpad 8, Thinkpad W500, Thinkpad T61F 14" (2.53 GHz QX9300, 6 GB RAM, Quadro FX570m 256 MB), GPD win
