Lenovo W540 Trackpoint/Middle Mouse
Lenovo W540 Trackpoint/Middle Mouse
Hello,
I'm using a new Lenovo W540 with Windows 8.1 Update 1 with latest driver from Lenovo (Synaptics 18.0.7.39).
I'm using Trackpoint Mode with activated middle button. Unfortunately the middle button works in scrolling mode. I didn't find how to change the mode (on a Lenovo W500 you could select for middle mouse: Scrolling, Magnifying Glass, Neither). So I'm looking for the Neither mode.
Any ideas?
Thank you.
Wiesl

Re: Lenovo W540 Trackpoint/Middle Mouse
You can use TPMiddle to do that: http://users.v-lo.krakow.pl/~mwrobel/pr ... iddle.html
IBM ThinkPad R50e | lenovo ThinkPad X301 | lenovo ThinkPad Z61t

Thank you. I'll try it. No other directly supported solution here?Ibthink wrote:You can use TPMiddle to do that: http://users.v-lo.krakow.pl/~mwrobel/pr ... iddle.html

Re: Lenovo W540 Trackpoint/Middle Mouse
Sometime over a year ago the Trackpoint drivers ruined the middle mouse functionality for all Thinkpads. I had to revert to a driver from 2011 to get it working right on my T61p, and newer models probably don't have that option. I think that the 3rd party program is the only good option for the moment.

OK, you can find an enhanced version of TPMiddle which works correctly for me and fixes some race conditions. See the CHANGELOG for details.wiesl wrote:Thank you. I'll try it. To work correctly ThinkPad must be configured in the "Only Classic TrackPoint Mode", at least for me.

Did you happen to also email the original author so he can include this version on his page? Looks like 0.6 was contributed by someone else too.wiesl wrote:

Yes, I wrote the original author but didn't get any answer (2 weeks ago).jdrou wrote:Did you happen to also email the original author so he can include this version on his page? Looks like 0.6 was contributed by someone else too.wiesl wrote:
