How many of you have already got the X62? And any new interest?
Recently got mine after a few months of waiting, haven't had a lot of time to play around with it but I definitely prefer it over the X1c (sadly I can't really take X62 to work instead of X1c)
The third batch come with i7 ES CPUs (2.5Ghz/2.2Ghz with HT, 4MB cache, stepping is the same as non-ES CPUs)
but it can be upgraded at certain cost (i7 5557U ~ 200-250 USD, for the CPU and BGA service)
Anyone interested in a pre-order or so?

1. Is $400 with the 5557U?
2. Any incompatibility with screens? My X61 is actually an X61t mobo with an X60/s screen (weird combo, that's how it came), FRU 42T0343.

My X60 Tablet SXGA+ display works just fine with the X62, so I believe any display that is compatible with the X60/t or X61/t should be compatible.
My X62 purchase was a smashing success. The one thing it is missing now is better fan controls. I'm more interested in the T70 now. Let me know if you end up ordering some of those; otherwise I'll try to go through Jacky and nkwsky again.

I'm also quite interested in the T70 - however, after reading about ajkula66's board sudden death - one of my worries is the mobo dying after a while - which would be a case where the grapes were indeed sour. I'm not sure if any comparison to Lenovo's customer service would be a good one.
While I'm definitely tipping my hat off to the 51nb guys - them being far away and having a language barrier between us - is still a huge concern of mine.

Did you remove the digitizer, or are you using your X62 with a touchscreen?fatpolomanjr wrote:My X60 Tablet SXGA+ display works just fine with the X62,

I removed the digitizer and did the screen mod to fit it into a non-tablet X60 chassis. Someone else made an X62 Tablet by installing an X62 into an X60 Tablet shell.

Re: How many of you have already got the X62? And any new interest?
It has been about 1/2 a year now and X62 seemed to be so much better than T50. (A lot more was sold as well) I haven't heard about a lot of bugs or sudden death.fourthree wrote: Thanks for the input!

Also, if I have enough RMB to play around with and if Trump is not gonna block me out, I should still be able to help (at least some times) to get around the language barrier
I got my X62 a lot later than some ppl in this forum, due to the internship and college work and also craps and fuss. I just hope when I started working things won't be that crazy

I'd like the version with the 5557U, although I might just skip it and wait for the T70. That would be $650 inc. shipping, correct? How long until you can get them?
Also, any estimate for the price of the T70?

It really depends on how many ppl still want X62, if too few old members want those then probably I won't be bothered to do it.
And as for time, I'd say prepare to wait for 2 months after pre-order start (if it will)
For T70, no estimate for now, but there's gonna be a lot of modifications to the roll cage, just waiting to see if it really weakens the structure to a point that it won't be good to upgrade

depending on the numbers of replies here, availability of i7 5557U and my time/money really. I guess I should probably just order 4 or 5 of i7 5557U and sell those....jaspen-meyer wrote:So, is it possible to pre-order an x62 or not?

Is there any hope at ordering these together at this point? There is 4th batch order underway and if this thread is dead, I'd go out on my own and try to make out as best as I can. I'm looking for two units -- one I'm going to use in a X61, and one, trying my luck in a X61T.

Nope, there wasn't and isn't but I think someone was suggesting upgrading the CPU. They must think the CPU would be compatible with the motherboard.fourthree wrote:Was there a mobo with 5557u? I can only find about 5600u.
