Yes, he is totally impressive! And he looks so effortless!

It's also good just to see what he looks like!

My laptop case is a Targus Notebook backpack. Got it from Alphakilo470. I use it everyday. Has a ton of room to carry my T21, my notes, TI-89, books, pens, paper, etc. Very comfortable to lug around.
I have finally rejoined the dark side.
ThinkPad T450s, Core i7 5600u, 12GB RAM, Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD.

This is a true life saver (in this case back saver). Sometimes I carry TWO laptops in this bag, plus tools and a cd-case (about 20 cd's) and the bag feels like it is full of bricks! Sometimes I carry TWO identical bags with THREE laptops altogether, so I can truly appreciate the back support

I also have a ThinkPad branded port/targus case that I purchased back in the day of my first T20, the SWEET thing about it, is the fact that it has a DEFCON alarm built into the FRONT of the leather carry case and it includes a "car style" remote for the configuration of the alarm as well as turning it on/off. A truly one of a kind bag, I will post pictures of it asap!

I also have the slip case from lenovo.com (made by Targus), I've had it for a short time but it is really sweet as well. I am waiting on a second one for a member of the forum, it has shipped and his should be arriving this week! It is made for a 15" TP, with the T4X 14.1" there is some "dead-air" but with the 9 cell battery installed it fits like a glove, and the whole thing fits like a globe inside the mobile edge backpack! here is the pic of the slip case:

Does that slip case hold a 15" t60p with a 9cell?

In this particular picture, when you put the backpack on your shoulder, where does the weight of your books go? Is the sleeve strong enough to hold against it?
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

Using this one on both my X31 and now T42. It's great coz it protects the laptop while using it and I'll just throw it in any bag or carry it by itself.

I don't like to use a laptop in a case like that for fear of overheating it due to the blocked vents.

I use the following:

Targus Groove:

Targus XL:

The XL is great. It has room for everything I need, except I have to be careful of bumping into people. Nearing capacity it sticks out as much as a hiking pack. :)

It's a Minardi F1 Team Rucksack. Their Formula may be a crap but I loved this bag.

I don't think there are vents to be blocked at the bottom of the x31 and t42, they're all on the sides.

Btw, these are Tekstyl Omni bags, aka Radtech. Google will get you several hits.

I bet there are ancillary vents on the bottom. Either way, I'd bet the bottom gets hotter than the top. ;)

I like to have some clearance to be on the safe side.

Ohh alright!!! :)

Well I checked with NHC on a 2ghz T42 running with and without the case here's what I got:

Without case running for 30 minutes: CPU: 45C, HDD: 32C
With case 30 minutes: CPU 41C, HDD 32C

Both with light browsing, etc.

Go figure.

There's a thermal material where your laptop rests so I guess that helps.

Here's a review, for those interested.

Can't argue with numbers, I suupose. :)

I don't see anything about the thermal material you mention in the review, though.

I love it when people keep topics alive! For some reason though it seems to get many people annoyed or angry.

A new forum member asked about a laptop bag: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... 84#p799284
All I did was a Google-search on the forum with the words "safeport protection systems" from his pictures and this carrying case thread popped up.
So I answered him with the link, which was then seen/followed by Puppy, and the rest is history... :)
