I need BIOS dump for W520

#1 Post by u666sa » Mon Jul 03, 2017 7:19 am

ThinkPad W520
H0222-5
LKN-3 WS MB
43.4KE37.051

Need BIOS dump. Notebook was turned off in the evening, and left sitting without power plugged into it, it's battery is long dead. In the morning it would want to start several times, even went into windows 10 boot screen, but then it stopped responding to anything. I suspect bad BIOS. Chip is alive. Need to put a dump into it and see what happens before I begin to look into other stuff.

Try this file from Serg008 at MDL:

Modded with Phoenix SLIC Mod 2.14
Mod method: Structure+HEX - WList check removed

Modified Bios:
Lenovo ThinkPad W520_1.42-(8BET62WW)-8buj21us__WL.rar
http://www.sendspace.com/file/qvhg0y

Flash from Windows. Run WINUPTP.EXE /s as Administrator.
Inside the RAR is a subdir 8BET62WW with 3 BIOS files. I think you may want the .FL1

Try booting to a msdos cd with a bios update utility. Are u ABSOLUTELY positive its not your os install.
Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.
