Re: Post your desktop.
Here are my 3 ThinkPads with IPS panels. (All of which are in UXGA resolution)
I upgraded the IDTech panel on the A30p into another one with the same model (IAUX14S, 05K9967) with better condition.
Since I have its older panel lying around, recently I thought of using it to replace the non-IPS UXGA panel I previously had on the T42 and it took me several tries to get it right due to the cable length problem (I initially folded the cable like everybody else did but today I ended up discovering that the cable is dying with weird stuff displaying so I had to fold it back and truncate the thinklight instead)
http://imgur.com/a/VyZyl
So the result is all the three laptops have IDTech panels. Only the ones on A30p and T42 are IAUX14S, but only the ones on A30p and T43p are in usable condition (The older IAUX14S panel displays everything disgustingly yellow except for the yellow background picture from one of the photos)

I remembered that one of the Google images result of ThinkPad T43 is a T43p in the space background. Not that one, but quite similar.

This is a rogue "ThinkPad A31p" built under your motherboard you sent me for free.
Built with half of the parts as semi-working and as barebone unit.
http://imgur.com/a/hD3Lm
The freezing issue you said was because something minor is shorting inside the motherboard and the southbridge heats up to when it decides to switch off and then freeze the computer. Inside that gallery are some of the things I did to prevent that so that I can have some form of a functional A31p.

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

Trying hard, but since they are 7, 6 and 2 yrs old all they have in their portfolio is annihilated T43, destroyed 600x, pulverized R400, many T60s turned to scrap and a couple of broken single parts. I will not count broken HDDs for the sake of birthrate.Thinkpad4by3 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2017 5:58 amTeach your kids to build the Thinkpads for you. Re: Post your desktop.
Give them base model T42s and T40s. No harm if there destroyed. Help them on their first few fixes them and let them try. I found my dads old 570e with broken LCD cable and tried to fix it by jamming a screw driver into a whole in the docking aligners. Worked once, and now I cant find the LCD I stole out of it. Was is left of it is a mobo with no fan. I also found a NOS keyboard laying around for it too Also stripped a screw because I hadnt learned about dont put small screwdriver into wrong screw hole and stripped to a machine finished hole.wujstefan wrote:[Trying hard, but since they are 7, 6 and 2 yrs old all they have in their portfolio is annihilated T43, destroyed 600x, pulverized R400, many T60s turned to scrap and a couple of broken single parts. I like your choice of durable items. Durable Thinkpad, lamp, (probably the gun) , and a nice wood table. Now get yourself some Dell Ultrasharps from 2001 and a nice IBM Model F and youre ready for WW3.
