T470p: get old keyboard using Thinkpad 25 bezel???

#1 Post by SwissFrank » Mon Dec 25, 2017 4:55 am

I note the T470s and T470 are the exact width/depth of the 25, so I assume the 25's bezel would be a drop-in replacement. (No surprise: the 25 seems to be a T470 with a few special features.)

However I note the T470p is about 1/10" wider and deeper, officially. Any idea if the 25 bezel would nonetheless clip into place? I don't care if it's 1/20" too short on the sides as long as it works...

I got a T470p last month, because it had 2x the CPU for the same money. But it's literally my first keyboard since 1998 that's not a 7-row. (I even used Thinkpad-layout PS/2 and USB keyboards exclusively at home and work.) I can't really take it! I need the old keyboard!

BTW apologies if this is frowned upon--I posted the same general question a week ago in the Thinkpad 25 forum...
