Hi, i have a question. What's the meaning of the s at the end of some ThinkPad names? For example, what is the difference between T420 and T420s?

Slim. The T420s is slimmer (by around 0.5cm) and lighter (3.75 lbs) than the regular T420 (4.32 lbs).
Planned Purchase: T480s i5-8350 FHD Touch
Impulse Buy: Thinkpad not named for safety reasons

If you really want to get technical, it means an STN display on machines older than 2000.
Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.
