Re-Cell X200 Tablet battery

#1 Post by jumpncrash » Sun May 20, 2018 10:25 pm

Hey guys, new member here, but have been lurkign for years.

I have recently re-acquired a thinkpad x200 tablet that my girlfriend has been using in university for the last couple years. It has a reasonably good aftermarket battery and an almost dead 12++.

I have some spare 18650 cells that I can use so I was thinking about tearing apart the 12++ battery casing to test and replace the dead cells so that I can have a second good battery. Does anybody have any feedback on doing this? More specifically does anybody have some tips on getting the case apart without destroying it, maybe a good starting point to split it...it doesn't seem to want to separate too easily...

a good sharp exacto and crazy glue to seal it back up.
