260 or 370 ?

#1 Post by swallman » Fri Jul 06, 2018 2:56 pm

So I'm in the market to purchase a Thinkpad Yoga...I was looking at the 260 but stumbled on the 370. Looks like the 370 came out but is no longer being sold be Lenovo (although the 260 is still listed and for sale on their website).

I'll be buying a used/refurbished model, either on eBay or someplace else, but just wondering which would be the better buy? Were there issues with the 370 that caused it to not sell well or something?

Well Yoga TP 370 is nothing more than slightly redesigned Yoga 260. Two things that matters most is updated Intel platform (7th gen.) and what is most important slightly bigger screen (13,3" instead of 12,5"). Both models relased for 2016 (Y260) and 2017 (Y370) has been replaced this year by not-really-redesigned X380 Yoga. If you do not need full Win7 support, Y370 or X380 is your best choice.

I have had a quick look at the 370 because I helped a family member buy a new Yoga 370 about 6 months ago.

I was impressed with the finish and I really liked the thin and light size and 13.3 inch screen size is perfect IMHO.

The screen was quite impressive and it was quick enough with the I7-7500 CPU and the NVMe 250 GB SSD.

I liked that the 370 has removable RAM but there is only 1 slot and the unit I saw only had 8GB which seemed plenty.

Hope this helps but I haven't seen a 260 or a 380 live. Goodluck

I know it's an old thread, but just in case someone's reading: as someone struggling with the latter, I can heartily recommend a larger display. Yoga 260 has a very nice looking display, however it's really not that good for those of us spending many hours at a time reading from the screen.

I have a 260 as well and I agree with agklimit. When I use the Yoga 260 in tablet mode for reading/annotating pdf's or reading ebooks, it's fine. When I use it for word processing / email / browsing or any other typical 'laptop' work, the 12.5" screen is cramped and I hook up an external monitor whenever possible. So the 13.3" screen in the same overall laptop size would be a nice improvement.
